This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Western Cape has beautiful red berry fruit flavours. The aim is to produce an attractive nose that lures you in and then over-deliver on the palate where drinkability is key. Classic Cab meets smashable drinkability.

Winemaking:

Destemmed into old oak cask open top fermenters. The Cabernet Sauvignon underwent extended maceration in the oak casks for 30 days after which it was pressed, and the wine went to 300L old French oak for 12 months. After the 12-month period the wine was bottled and rested in bottle for another 4 months.

A pretty unconventional cab. Smoke, leather, and herbs on the nose, with oak less pronounced. Sour cherry on the palate, with a high acid kick.

Very smooth and well balanced. Not overly oaky or tannic. Notes of red cherries and red raspberry. Enjoyed with a nice pork chop on the grill.

Black and red fruit, oak and vanilla. Heavier on the leather, earth, cinnamon and pepper. Heavy tannins. I paired it with some focaccia, humus and chicken popcorn style (sweet mango and spicy pepper marinated).

Smelled of smoke and cherries. Medium bodied cab with nice taste of cherry, strawberry and smoke. Medium tannin. Really tasty and great QPR. 4.25 / 5.00
